I recently submitted a question which appeared on this week’s BBC Round Britain Quiz. The question was ‘Why might Captain Robert Fitzroy’s 1854 creation make mention of the following – Diana’s stepmother, a Bronte heroine, an antipodean wine region and a female Law Lord?’
The answers, are Captain Fitzroy, who captained the ship the Beagle that made Darwin’s name, set up the infant Meteorological Office and the second part refers to Lady Raine, Lucy Snow, Cloudy Bay and Lady Hale. The BBC in its wisdom left out the fifth part – the famous boxer – Sonny Liston.
The team scored 4 points out of 6.
I have sent two other questions which were not used but I think they need a bit more work!!!-
