I am delighted to announce that I have been awarded an MBE in the 2016 New Year Honours List.
The citation reads: ‘Trustee, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust. For services to the Jewish Community and Holocaust Awareness’.
Naturally I am really chuffed and grateful to the HMDT for nominating me. It is a credit to the work of the Trust that 4 Holocaust survivors that work with them are being honoured.
I was invited to tea with the others and the Mayor of Barnet in early January.
I have now been invited to an Investiture in May which is very exciting. I can take three guests which is handy as I have three sons.
Lots of people do what I have done but don’t get acknowledged, so its lovely.
The timing is wonderful as my second son, Ben is married his lovely Mel on 2 January and my new book was published on 13 January. A good start to 2016.
